The exact age of the barn is not known but most of the main house here at Hayes, and buildings within the grounds date back to the 16th Century, with the remains of a much older Medieval dwelling still visible within the walls. The barn sits within the parterre garden in front of the historic timber framed manor house, with characterful, sloping, timber framed porch. A showcase of classic Tudor architecture.

Over the centuries, Hayes has been home to many notable families, each leaving their mark on its rich history. The house has witnessed the passage of time, standing resilient through England's shifting historical landscape.
